Chandigarh --- Located in capital city of Haryana & Punjab under jurisdiction of Northern Railway. The city of Chandigarh was the first planned city in India post-independence in 1947 and is known internationally for its architecture and urban design. Chandigarh is a city and a union territory that serves as the capital of the states of Punjab and Haryana. But As a union territory, the city is ruled directly by the Union Government of India and is not part of either state. The station came into existance with the opening of Delhi-Ambala-Kalka line in 1891. Though the current station opened in 1954. The station have five platforms with stoppage of 38 trains.
