HGS-26761 --- This beautiful broad-gauge steam locomotive manufactured in the year 1922 by William Beardmore Company, Glasgow Scotland. Originally a HG class loco, weighs 103 tonnes with a maximum speed of 56 kmph, it has a 'Consolidation' type 2-8-0 wheel arrangement and tractive effort of 17 tons with Walschaert's valve gear. Commissioned in 1922, this mainline freight locomotive which initially worked on Oudh and Rohilkhund Railway (O & RR) and was subsequently transferred to the Eastern railway where it was based for maintenance in the Madhupur Locomotive shed in Bihar. It was modified by adding superheating and thus re-classified as HGS (Heavy Goods Superheated) class. After its decommissioning in at 1985, it was again revived by the Howrah Division of the Eastern railway recently and hauled a Heritage train between Howrah and Bandel on 19th of September 1999.
