Ujjain Junction

Ujjain Junction --- The Indore-Ujjain branch line was opened in August 1876 and the line was completed in 1880 following a loan of Rs. 7.5 million granted by Maharaja Jayajirao Scindia of Gwalior. Ujjain station is located 12 km to the east of Ujjain City (earlier Ujjaini & Avanti). The former name of this station was Avantikapuri. The structure is highly developed and internationally furnished. The railway station consist of 8 platforms which provide the passengers almost all the important services. Currently 112 trains have stoppage at Ujjain junction. Station code - UJN.
