Ratlam Junction --- Ratlam is a major junction and important rail division of Indian Railways. Ratlam was given to Ratan Singh Rathore as a gift by Shah Jahan. Ratlam was a princely state in British India, part of Malwa agency of Central India. For a long period of time, the Ratlam region was under rule of the Rathore clan. Ratlam is well known for Gold, Ratlami Sev, Ratlami Saari and its people. The famous shrine of Hussain Tekri is situated here. There are Four major railway tracks passes through Ratlam City, these are along Mumbai, Delhi, Ajmer and Khandwa. The station currently have seven platforms with a stoppage of nearly 140 trains. It also has a Disel Locomotive Shed which houses both ALCo & EMD locomotives. It currently holds 50+ nos. of WDM2 class locos & variants, 80+ nos. of WDM3A class locos, around 7 nos. of WDS6 class shunters & 5 nos. of WDG4 class EMD locos. Station code - RTM.
