Gaya --- This railway junction serves the city of Gaya in Gaya district of Bihar. South Bihar Railway Company (operated by EIR) had laid a line from Lakkisarai to Gaya in 1879. Later when Grand Chord was opened in 1906, Gaya became a part of this rail-link. Gaya Jn is now under Mugalsarai division of the East Central Railway zone. It is an important junction of the Grand Chord that connects Howrah and New Delhi. Apart from the Grand Chord the Patna line & Kiul line also meets here. There are 9 platforms in the Gaya Junction and the platform 10 is under construction. About 105 trains have stoppage at this juction. As many as 35 trains originates/terminates at this junction.
