YP-2511 (1963)

The meter-gauge masterpiece was built in the year 1963 by Tata Engineering & Locomtive Company (TELCO). YP class was lately the most widely used, standard & successfull mainline passenger steam locomotives ever used on Indian subcontinent. This indigenously fabricated loco was in use at Southern railway meter-gauge sections till 1993 and is one of the last steam loco of the era. This 700 hp locomotive with 4-6-2, 4-4 wheel configuration has a super heated boiler & tender type bogie with a maximum working speed of 75 kmph.
