X-37390 --- This meter-gauge X class steamer was built in the year 1925 by Swiss Locomotive & Machine Works, Winterthur, Switzerland for Nilgiri Mountain Railway. It used run on the rack & pinion section between Mettupalayam & Cunnoor. After 85 years of its service to the nation, this steaming marvel is now preserved & plinthed outside the Cunnoor railway station for public display. Photographed by Somsubhra Das.
