F-717 --- This F class locomotive # 724 was built by Nasmyth Wilson & Co, Patricroft, Manchester, UK in the year 1928. This 2-8-2 locomotive was also put in service in 2' 6" narrow-gauge section of Barsi Light Railway with BLR-29 road number. It was subsequently transferred to Murtazapur-Yavatmal-Achalpur narrow-gauge section of Shakuntala Railway in the year 1983. After 76 years of total service life this loco was withdrawn from active service in the year 1994. For years this loco was lying condemned and as unsold scrap inside the Murtizapur shed. Finally in the year 2018, continuing its efforts in preservation of its glorious past, Indian railways refurbished the locomotive and plinthed it at the CR Locomotive Garden at the backyards of Mumbai CSMT (Exit road from PF # 18).
