CS - 774

CS-774 --- Built in 1926 by W. G. Bagnall Castle Engine Works of Stafford, England. Wheel configuration 2-4-0. It was the lightest steam locomotive ever used in IR. Introduced first in India on 20th May 1927, with a max speed of 21 kmph, this cute loco served the 2'6" NG Shantipur-Nabadwip Ghat section of Sealdah division (ER) before retiring on 1986. Presently resting in peace at Eastern Railway Headquarters at Fairlie Place, Kolkata. Framed by Somsubhra Das. D.O.P. - 27th December 2017.
