Maitree Express means the Friendship Express, denoting the significance of the train service to the foreign relations between India and Bangladesh. On 14th April 2017, from both India & Bangladesh side Maitree express restarted its journey following a short discontinuation due to upgradation of coaches in either sides of the border. Here its seen the completely revived Maitree Express with brand new air-conditoned LHB rakes of Bangladesh Railway made in RCF, Kaputhala with all modern facilities. The new LHB AC rake comprises 10 coaches altogether with 2 - AC Power Cars, 5 - AC Chair Car & 3 - AC Sleeper Cars.
