Bogie Covered Wagon Modified --- The BCN wagons were designed in 1984 for transportation of bagged commodities with an axle Load 20.32 T. The present stock is mostly with CASNUB 22 NLB bogies & straight CBC coupling. O-12 I-8 S-4 spring. Speed 75/80 Kmph with a payload of 54.08 Tonnes.

The wagon in the photo above is a High axle load version of BCN. In 2006 for operation up to CC+8+2T, suspension of BCN modified by providing four additional springs. O-2, I-2. Differentiated from BCN by a caption 'Fitted with additional springs for axle load 22.32 Tonnes' in centre of the wagon in Golden Yellow band provided. Fitted with modified CASNUB 22 NLB bogie with non-transition CBC & O-14 I-10 S-4 spring. Speed 75/80 for CC+6+2t and 65/80 CC+8+2t. Capacity - 64.4 Tonnes. Type - BCNM1.
