MG Bogie Covered Wagon --- The MG covered wagons were designed in 1936 for transportation of bagged commodities with loading capacity of 15.0 Tonnes & Tare weight of 10 Tonnes. Once these wagons were the mainstay of the entire mainline freight operations across the country. A typical MG covered wagons rake consists 15-20 wagons depending on track conditions. These wagons are fitted with fabricated box bogie (UIC bogie), hook coupling system & are vacuum braked. Type - MBC.
