Nasik Road --- The name was originally used for the town surrounding the station (about 8 km or 5 miles south-west from the heart of the Nashik city) and parts of the adjoining Deolali village, but has been administratively merged with the Nashik Municipal Corporation since 1984. The first train in India travelled from Mumbai to Thane on 16 April 1853. By May 1854, Mumbai-Thane line was extended to Kalyan by Great Indian Peninsula Railway (GIPR). Bhusawal line was opened by mid 1860s. The line was further extended to Khandwa in 1866 which results opening of Nasik Road station in 1866 and finally GIPR extends upto Nagpur in 1867 to meet Bengal Nagpur Railway (BNR) network. The station have four platforms with stoppage of 138 trains. Station code - NK.
