Jolarpettai Jn --- The history of Jolarpettai Junction goes back to 1860s. When Madras Railways started the rail running from Royapuram to Wallajah Road. In the mean time rail line work was started in 1864 in the Jolarpettai - Bangalore Cantt. route on which Bangalore mail started its journey in 1868. The Brindavan Express when introduced in the late 1960s was considered one of the fastest train at that time which crosses the Jolarpettai-Bangalore cantonment section in 1 hour 30 min. Jolarpettai Junction is one of the biggest junction in the Indian Railways & one of the busiest railway station in Vellore district. It is the only junction in Asia having sixteen tracks. It has the second largest railway yard in Asia. It also has a centre for southern railway to rehaul freight wagons. The station have 5 platforms with stoppage of nearly 157 trains. Station code - JTJ.
