JhaJha --- It is station by the hills. This station serves the city of Jhajha in the Jamui district of Bihar. JhaJha is famous for the two bird sactuaries - Nagi Dam and Nakti Dam Bird Sanctuary situated within 13 kms from the station. These notified sanctuaries are surrounded by rocky hillocks, formed by the damming of streams. Both these waterbodies are quite deep, with a clear water surface. Jhajha is the easternmost station on the mainline section of the Danapur division (ECR). It is located in front of a large red soil hill and is surrounded many forests. The first rail track between Howrah and Delhi was via Sahibganj Loop and the first train on the route ran in 1864. Meanwhile the the Kiul-Patna sector was ready around 1862. Thus the 'Shorter Main Line' on the Delhi-Calcutta route via Madhupur, Jhajha, Patna started following the completion of the section from Raniganj to Kiul.
