--- During the British Commonwealth era postage stamps favored mostly monarch portraits. But this 1937 issued British India stamp does depict a mail train along with the portrait of King George VI. The locomotive shown in the stamp was a 4-6-2 steam loco of East Indian Railways (EIR) along with carriages. This pre-independence stamp was released on 12th December 1936 along with seven other stamps as Mail Transport Series, with denomination of 4 annas.
