Vintage Coach - INPEX '82 --- Railways became an integral part of mailing service since ints advent in India. Mails were carried in the guard van under supervision of the guard until 1863. But later the system proves to be too much time taking as the number mails increasing with time and the trains getting delayed for occupancy of the guard. It was then the railways decided to introduce specially fitted compartments in second class carriages as mobile post office on mail trains. On 30th Dec 1982 at Fourth Indian Natinal Philatelic Exhibition (INPEX'82) IndiaPost issued a 50 paisa stamp which shows silhoutte of an early steam engine & a vintage 4-wheeler rail coach comprising RMS compartment in the middle.
