One of the best way to cover the Araku valley is by train from Visakhapatnam on the Visakhapatnam - Kirandul line. This line was built in 1966 to specially carry iron ore to Visakhapatnam port from the mineral reserves of Chattisghad state. Iron ore fines are transported from mines at Bailadilla through this train line to Visakhapatnam port for export and for consumption of Visakhapatnam steel plant. The track was electrified in 1982.
