On collision course ???? Well, not really. This scene is frequent on the SER section between SRC and HWH. There used to be 3 lines and the empty rakes of trains originating from and terminating at HWH has to be hauled all the way from/to SRC. Things have eased though with the newly laid fourth line becoming operational from the late 2013. Seen here is a HWH bound EMU waiting behind the Tiruchi Express being taken to HWH from SRC.
