the governor switch

The braking system in a Tram uses pressurised air formed by a compressor. If no air is used and the pressure goes on rising, it may damage the system. A Governor Switch puts the compressor 'off' when a certain pressure is reached. It again puts 'on' when pressure in the system reduces after braking.
