prince of wales saloon (1875)

This meter gauge saloon was built at Agra Workshop of Rajputana Malwa Railway in 1875 for Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) for his visit to India for Royal Darbar in 1876. The car features a balcony at either end, with a provision to seat four armed guards, two on each balcony. All the original furniture and internal fittings of the car are intact. The saloon has sunshades, and paintings of symbols representing the British Crown on either side. This is one of the prime exhibit of National Rail Museum, NewDelhi.
