mg hand crane - 33993 (1885)

This 5 tonne capacity meter gauge travelling Hand Crane used during accident relief operations is the oldest manufactured exhibit of this museum. It was built in 1885 by Cowans Sheldon Co. Ltd Engineers, Carlisle, England. It used to swivel to 360 degrees. This crane was also used for restoration work at the goods shed and for loading/unloading works as well. This handy light weight hand operated crane is still in working condition.
