This is the fastest built metro rail system in the country. Construction of Phase-1A began in September 2014 and the work completed in November 2016. On 1st December 2016, the inaugural run, piloted by two women, was flagged-off from the Transport Nagar depot, on a trial basis, on priority section till the Alambagh Station.
