The new age DEMU is here. These ICF DEMUs are factory-painted in colours strikingly similar to that of Kolkata AC Metro. The swanky eight-car formation with aerodynamically designed power cars are equipped with electro-pneumatic braking system. The power car is bifurcated into three portions - the engine, ladies portion and the general part. A door has been fitted in between the ladies and the general portion as a safety measure for the women travellers. The coaches have been spaciously designed to provide more ventilation and lighting for the travellers.
