As the journey begun from Kalka, slowly the train chuggs along the mountain where calmness prevails throughout. The line went along piercing through the himalayan foothills. The railway was constructed on a 2' gauge by the Delhi-Ambala-Kalka Railway Company commencing in 1898. The 96.54 km line was opened to traffic on November 9, 1903.
