Following the completion of landslip repairs at Pagla Jhora the entire route is now fully open again for the first time in over four years. On 10 March 2015, a steam-hauled special, chartered by Darjeeling Tours Ltd. was the first to cover the full length of the line. In recent months much preparation has gone into preparing the line for the forthcoming full resumption of public services-new passing loops have been installed, stations re-painted and new information signage boards erected. But still the actual date of resumption of 52540/41 passenger service is not announced.
