X-37386 --- Built by Swiss Locomotive & Machine Works, Winterthur, Switzerland in the year 1920. With 0-8-2T wheel arrangement these meter-gauge X class locos have the ability to run on rack and pinion track & are India's only 4-cylinder steam locos, the additional cylinders being used for the rack wheel. This particular locomotive at Mettupalayam was putting on steam to perform shunting duties with a rake of MG BOBYN wagons. All steam locos running in Nilgiri Hill Railway are oil-fired.
