BDR - 8 'Sentinel'

BDR-8 'Sentinel' --- Built by The Sentinel Waggon Works Co. Ltd. Shrewsbury, UK, in 1929. Wheel configuration 0-6-0 & with 100hp this narrow-gauge loco was used on the Bankura-Damodar River Light Railway (BDR) of East Indian Railway. These Super-Sentinel locos have got a vertical boiler inside a fully enclosed bonet. Steam from the boiler in turn provide power to a high-powered motor, which in turn transmit power to the wheels through chains.
