WDS6-TATASTEEL-114 --- These are heavy duty, shunting locomotives are equipped with 6-cylinder Alco engine built by Diesel Locomotive Works, Varanasi. These are provided with AC-DC transmission consisting of a directly coupled self-ventilated BHEL make traction alternator type TA10106 CY, driving six-axle hung nose suspended BHEL traction motors type TM4907. These 1350 hp locomotives comes with a max speed of 65 kmph and panel mounted IRAB-1 Brake system.

Another WDS6ADT class shunting locomotive of Tata Steel plant was spotted at Tatanagar Goods yard while performing regular shunting duties with an empty rake of BOXNHL consist. Photographed by Anjan RoyChowdhury. D.O.P. - 15th August 2018.
