YAM1-TBM-21912 --- These are B - B type meter-gauge eletric locomotives, eighteen of which were ordered from Mitsubishi (Japan) and were first put into service in 1965 replacing the aging YCGs. Built by the consortium of Japanese group comprises Hitachi, Mitsubishi & Toshiba these locos used to ran on 25 kV AC traction for mixed traffic operation in the single isolated Madras-Villupuram MG section.
