Indian Railways recently beautified the Bihar Sampark Kranti Express train by decorating its coaches with Madhubani painting. The traditional Madhubani art form from Bihar, which was recently used by Indian Railways to beauty the coaches of its train, has not only earned the appreciation of people across the country but also of the United Nations. The mesmerizing Madhubani art form, which comes from Mithila region of Bihar, is famous for its unique geometric patterns to create colourful and attractive paintings. After adorning the walls of several stations in Bihar, Madhubani paintings now showcasing on trains like the Patna Rajdhani and Bihar Sampark Kranti Express that originate from the state. According to railway officials there are a total of 100 coaches to be painted with Madhubani art including Jansadharan Express.
