The train in each trip travels around 375 kilometers between Dhaka & Kolkata. There are two stops for immigration checking - Gede station in India and the other is Darshana in Bangladesh. It takes around 10 hours to cover the entire stretch. Since the Bangladesh side is non-electrified, the entire stretch is covered by broad-gauge diesel locomotives. There is a change of crew and locos at Darshana in Bangladesh. But sometimes change of loco also happens in Ranaghat junction in India as well.
