Kolkata Tram - 472 --- Not scrapped but sold !!! Or rather transfer of assets between the Departments of State Govt. Two of the wooden-body, articulated tramcars # 472 & # 478 (road numbers derived as per RTI answers from WBTC) were sold by CTC (A WB Govt. Undertaking) to CMDA (Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority: A WB Govt. Concern) for beautification project of a park situated at the southern tip of the city. Named as 'Benubon Chhaya' this park with a lake now housed both the trams where they are used as Resto-cars. Out of four coaches (two of each tram) three are used Restaurants and one used as Godowns. Interiors are ripped apart to provide a complete new make-over. All the coaches are kept under open sky without any sheds. Photographed by Roy on 21st October 2019.
