Built in 1950 by Vulcan Foundry, U.K, with 4-6-0 wheel configuration. With a max speed of 90 kmph it became the standard class of BG locomotive for passenger hauls in IR until the advent of WP class. The HPS/2 was in fact a derivative from an earlier HP class of locomotive. It was reclassified as HPS after superheated version was developed. Now resting at National Rail Museum, New Delhi.
