This rail museum is a fantastic get away for 2-3 hours for anyone who loves Trains. Though a visit to this museum is not a part of itinerary of many tourists but with an impressive collection of vintage Trains from the British Era, this museum takes you back in time and provides a charming and romantic experience of Indian Railways. It is true that a decent & diverse collection of railway artefacts including meter gauge steam locomotives are displayed in here and also in various other rail museums in the nation. These vintage beauties chugged across the length and breadth of the country until they were supplanted by diesel engines. A few were preserved, while the rest went under the auctioneer’s hammer to be sold as scrap.
