ZF-107 --- The ZF class was amongst the largest of the NG locomotives. Built in 1935 by Henschel & Sohn, Germany and Kassel Locomotives Works. With 2-6-2 type of wheel arrangement, this locomotive used to have an axle load of 8 tons. It looks very similar to K class (which is in use Kalka-Shimla line) locomotive. However ZF class loco has large grate area of 16.25 sq ft. & a longer boiler with 160 lbs pressure. Inducted into service for Kalka-Shimla but later became popular in Kangra Valley Railway as well. Spotted while it was plinthed outside New Delhi station. Photographed by Rudranil RoyChowdhury. D.O.P. - 2nd September 2012.
