WDS-BHEL-KoPT --- This KoPT shunter is a twin-pack 700 hp Diesel Electric locomotive built by Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd. (BHEL). This 4-Axle Bo-Bo locomotive is powered by 2 nos. Cummins NTA 855L diesel engines with a ahulage capacity of 3000 ton. It comes with certain special features as well. There is freedom of running with single power pack in case of empty wagon hauling. There is no separate starter motor; cranking through TG having start field winding. It comes with Self aligning & Compact Single Bearing Traction Generator. These units have got conventional Hydra-Mechanical governing system which is easy to maintain. There is provision of MU operation for increased haulage requirement as standard feature. And there is Dual control station, convenient for driving both forward and reverse direction.
