Inaugural Run of SER's First MEDHA EMU --- On 22nd March 2018, the first MEDHA EMU rake of South-eastern railway rolled-out for first time on tracks !!! These EMUs commonly known as the 'Medha' rakes as these rakes comes with indigenously built electrical systems (electrical traction motors and train control mechanisms) - powered by Hyderabad-based firm Medha Servo Drives. These rakes have in-built systems to minimise breakdowns during travel & can move at a speed upto 110 kmph. Rakes manufactured for SER comes with second-class seats made are of stainless steel. These rakes are provided with ergonomically profiled seats and air suspension system for better passenger comfort. These rakes also have modular roof-mounted forced ventilation system which supplies 16000 cubic m/hr fresh air into the passenger area. Arkopal Sarkar was present at Howrah station to cover the event on behalf of TrainTrackers & also taken the maiden ride to Panksura.
